Challenge
In an age of isolation, how do we create housing that fosters genuine community and honors local history? The architecture firm Zig Property renovated and redeveloped the historic Balfour's Bakery into cooperative housing, while keeping its historical charm intact. Along with existing co-owners & residents, it needed to inform and attract interested buyers for not only apartment units but a unconventional model of homeownership.

StrategyBy Evolving, We Endure, spoken in the voice of the collective, convey that the Balfour family values for community and connection can endure the ages by adopting a different but holistic ways of living. The co-op’s brand posits social relationships of neighbors and friends as the foundation of desirable housing.

SolutionBranded materials that take a bold and expressive approach to featuring the building’s attractive upgrades, that altogether feel warm and uniform. Images treated with texture and line work that highlight how infrastructure reflects residents’ connection to each other, while the brand’s soft, rounded typography feels human and whole.
